Here's what users had to say about Synthoria & its workshop presented by Women in Games.
“I hadn't thought about women in games that way before- I think it's really great that you talked about why "gamer girls" is an issue and emphasized why we shouldn't fall into stereotypes!”
Lisa Liu
SEP Intern @ JPM Chase || CS @ UC San Diego
"I found it extremely interesting learning about the gender gap seen in the Game Development industry, as I did not have any prior knowledge about this since I don't really play any video games. However, this workshop made me realize the importance of having women in the Game Dev industry and the potential rising women have in tech!"
Harleen Monder
Student @ Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School
"My favorite part of this workshop was finding out the inspiration and meaning behind Huda's game and seeing how it was built to create an impact and advocate for Steminism."

Synthoria & Me

Sana is my reflection. Below is her image—both in reality and as represented in Synthoria. As a kid, I was an avid gamer, playing everything from Poptropica to Roblox, and always building robots or coding Swift bots. But as a little brown girl, I often felt invisible, reduced to side characters or inaccurate portrayals. Synthoria became my way to reclaim that narrative, crafting Sana and Yasmeen's bond—a mirror of my own relationship with my sister and my younger self, complete with authentic South Asian Muslim representation.
